Human Circus is a history podcast. It tells the stories of travellers in the middle ages and shows their larger historical contexts. Pilgrims, soldiers, diplomats, merchants, and missionaries passing between cultures, these figures demonstrate a complex and interconnected medieval world, and their lives make fantastic stories, intersecting with Mongol khans, Ottoman Sultans, and English Queens.
Your host (me) has wrapped up his Humanities MA in Vancouver, BC, and isn’t quite yet sure if a PhD is in his near future. Human Circus is a personal project that keeps me diving into travel chronicles and wanting to share them with all of you. I hope you like what you hear.
